The Hilton Athletic Club Swimming Pool is now salt water (saline)

A salt water system creates its own chlorine by passing an electric current through salt water in a chlorinator cell. That cell splits the salt into sodium and chloride. It then releases a chlorine gas that dissolves in the water. It is through this process that the water in a saline pool is sterilized.

People who have reactions to chlorinated pools are generally reacting not to the chlorine but to other chemicals and by-products. These chemicals and by-products will be absent in the saline pool.

Saline sterilizes the water, prevents the growth of algae and is much easier on your eyes, skin, hair, and swim suit.

The jetted spa tub in the Athletic Club and the swimming pool in the Executive Tower will remain chlorinated until a later date.

Please see your Hilton Athletic Club Representative for further details.
